  • Hello Students,
  • You all are welcome at our Nature Study Camp which is organized for you and will fill you with excitement and adventure in an education camp for 6 days in the beautiful valley of Dalhousie in Himchal Pradesh, the abode of Gods.
  • The nature study camp includes bird-watching, star gazing,(identification of satellites) rock climbing, trekking and first aid training. You may also photograph the panoramic views of the surrounding areas. Avail this opportunity of staying in the camp site amidst majestic snow peaks of Himalayas and meet the youngsters from various parts of the country. At night sit around camp fire after dinner for a cultural get together with a sense of love for nature and outdoor activity aiming at promoting national integration.
  • Participation fee : Participation fee Rs.2400/- for a package of 6 enjoyable days in the pollution free atmosphere of Himalayas.This includes nutritious vegetarian food, accommodation, equipments, training, trek to snow line, forest entry fee and insurance.
  • Note: YHAI Trekking expeditions are not subsidized by any Govt. Aid or any donors.
  • Eligibility : The PROGRAM is open to age group of 10 -15 yrs. Only junior members are allowed to participate. Overage /underage students shall not be considered in any case.
  • Reporting Dates : · 21st April, 6th May,21st May, 26th April 11th May, 26th May, 1st May 16th May
  • Duration : The Program begins on 21st April 2013 at Youth Hostel Dalhousie (Tel no. 01899 - 242189) as a base camp. A group of 100 students will be received at the base camp on the above mentioned dates. You can report on any of these dates after getting your seats confirmed. The duration of the camp for each group is 5 nights and 6 days. Reporting on 1st day and departure after breakfast on 8th day. Extra stay will be subject to availability of accommodation on payments basis.
  • Schedule :
  • Day 1: Report at base camp Dalhousie Ht.7000ft.
  • Day 2: River crossing at Bada Nallah Ht.(7000ft.) trek up and down - (8kms, 5hrs)
  • Day 3: Drop at Lakharmandi by Bus. Trek to Kalatop (8000ft.) and back to Youth hostel via jungle route (11kms 5 hrs)
  • Day 4: Drop by Bus at Dainkund (9800ft) Trek to Joth (9000ft)and back to Youth Hostel, Dalhousie (5kms, 4 hrs.)
  • Day 5: Rappelling at Panchpulla (7000ft)Trek up to waterfalls and back to Youth Hostel Dalhousie (5kms , 4hrs)
  • Day 6: Group departs after breakfast.

  • How to Reach : Nearest Railway Stations are Ambala & Chandigarh. Bus Service: Regular bus services from Pathankot, Delhi & other parts of Punjab. Pathankot/Chakkibank to Banikhet are about 80km (3-4hr journey by Bus). Roadways buses & Private Taxis are available.
  • How to Apply : Members desirous of joining this program may apply online through our website www.yhaindia.org,or, by the prescribed registration form duly supported by a Medical Certificate, along with a DD of requisite amount in favor of Youth Hostels Association of India, payable at New Delhi. Members can also apply through the State Branch or Local Unit of YHAI. N.B: Without admit card do not claim your registration as confirmed
