National Himalayan Trekking Expedition 2013 SAURKUNDI PASS.

Saurkundi Pass Trail offers an opportunity to enjoy the timeless beauty of Kullu valley with Segli, Maylee and Longa Thatch as the beauty spots. Base camp Bandroll is famous for its cool and pleasant climate with tall pine trees. Daura Thatch can be literally called the small Siachin where one can experience the true challenge of nature in full fury of chilling spine cold nights. The splendid views of snowy peaks offer an endless feast to the eyes. Longa Thatch fascinates the trekkers with their sweet grasses, wild flowers and a variety of birds.

- Dates : You may choose to report at the base camp on any day from 25th April to 31st May 2013.
- Age : The minimum age for joining the expedition is 15 years. This condition will be adhered to strictly. Under age will not be considered in any case.
- Fee : Participation fee Rs.3350/- per head which cover stay in tented accommodation, Nutritious Vegetarian meals,guidance, forest entry fee and insurance. Participants will bear to and fro travel expenses from their home to base camp.
- How to Reach : For Saurkundi Pass trail, our base camp is at Bandroll which is on Kullu Manali Highway, it is 7kms ahead of Kullu Bus stand. Regular bus services are available from Delhi, Chandigarh, Punjab to Kullu Manali. Nearest railheads are Ambala and Chandigarh. Nearest Airport is Bhuntar.
- Schedule Day 1: Reporting at base camp Youth Hostel Bandroll Day 2: Acclimatization and Orientation Day 3: Rock Climbing and Rappelling Day 4: Trek to Youth Hostel Segli 8kms ? (7100ft) 5hrs Day 5: Trek to Youth hostel Hora Thatch (9000ft) 10km ? 7hrs Day 6: Trek to Youth hostel Maylee Thatch (10500ft) 9kms ? 7hrs Day 7: Trek to Youth Hostel Doura Thatch (11300ft) 10kms - 7hrs Day8: Trek to Youth Hostel Longa Thatch (10800ft) via Saurkundi Pass (12900ft) 12kms ? 8hrs Day 9: Trek to Youth Hostel Lekhni (8100ft) 10kms ? 4hrs Day 10: Trek to Alu Ground (Manali )- 5km, 2hr- Road head, transfer by bus to Base camp Bandroll, Valedictory function. Day 11: Group departs after Breakfast.
- How to Apply : Members desirous of joining this program may apply online through our website www.yhaindia.org, or, by the prescribed registration form duly supported by a Medical Certificate, along with a DD of requisite amount in favor of Hostels Association of India, payable at New Delhi. If we reach the base camp on 25th, the schedule will start from 25th onwards?
