• Dear Trekkers,
• PURPOSE OF THE PROGRAM : The purpose of the program is to expose the YHAI members to a greater adventure and rough out the rigors of plodding through forest & Hills with a sense of love for the nature and outdoor recreational activity aiming at promoting National Integration.
• Shatrunjaya Hill, Palitana : The Shatrunjaya Hill is located at a height of 591 metres. The Shatrunjaya Temple is the most sacred temple of the Jains and one of the largest of its kind in India. One has to climb up the hill for about 4 kms (600 meters) on a stepped path to Shatrunjaya (place of victory over worldliness). You can reach this place either in Doli or lift chairs or by walking. The rich persons visit this place on richly caparisoned elephants. There are about 863 white marble Jain temples, built over 900 years on the hilltop, each with its own enclosure.. There is a stunning view from the top of the hill and the air is filled with the scent of the jasmine trees. On a clear day, you can also see the Gulf of Cambay.
• Shri Hastagiri Tirth : This sacred place is on a hill on the bank of the river Shetrunji
• Bhojnath Mahadev : 20 KM away from Palitana andv 1.5 Km from Hathsani village. It’s also situated on the banks of river Shetrunji.
• Date : 9th,10th & 11th August 2013
• Duration : 3 Day 2 Night
• PROGRAM FEE : Rs. 800/- for YHAI members and Rs. 900/- for others
• Repoerting Date : 9th August 2013 after 16.00 Hrs. Onwards
• Reporting Place : Jain Bhuvan, Opp. Nagnath Temple, Taleti Road , PALITANA
• PROGRAM SCHEDULE & ROUTE :
• Day. 1 : 09.08.2013 : Reporting and rest
• Day. 2 : 10.08.2013 : Palitana to Jivapur Valley by Bus and onwards trek to Shetrunjay Hils to Bhojnath Mahadev and Night Stay ( 5 KM Trek & 5 KM by Vehical Total 10 Km.)
• Day. 3 : 11.08.2013 : Bhojnath Mahadev to Hastgiri Hills by Trek and back to Palitana by vehical via Jadia ( 4 KM Trek & 17 KM by Vehical Total 21 Km.)
• WHAT PARTICIPANTS SHOULD BRING ALONG : Rucksack (if You have one), Cotton Shirts, Slacks, Cotton Pants, Sun Cap, Shoes, Socks, Enameled or Steel Mug / tumbler, Plate, Spoon,water Bottle, Soap, Toilet Paper, Towel, Rain sheet, Medicines which you normally use at home, Camera with extra batteries. Trekking Boots are must for walking on hills.
