  • Youth Hostels Association of India is organizing the ‘National Heritage Trek’ expedition through some of the most scenic & beautiful areas of J & K. This 7 days trek touches unique heritage sites, green meadows & pastures, lofty mountains’ thick deodar forests, clear natural water springs, brooks & the holy river that flows just below the surface of the earth except at one location at Udhampur. This expedition offers the youth a new trekking route in the Pancheri Hills & combines a healthy outdoor activity with exposure to rich heritage of the state.
  • Purpose : The purpose of the program is to expose the YHAI members to a greater adventure and to rough the rigors of plodding with a sense of love for nature and outdoor recreational activity aiming at promoting national integration.
  • HOW TO JOIN : Members desirous of joining this program may apply online through our website www.yhaindia.org, or, by the prescribed registration form duly supported by a Medical Certificate, along with a DD of requisite amount in favor of "Youth Hostels Association of India", payable at New Delhi. Members can also apply through the State Branch or Local Unit of YHAI.
  • N.B: Without admit card do not claim your registration as confirmed.
  • PROGRAM SCHEDULE
  • Day 1: Reporting at the base camp Udhampur
  • Day 2: Sankri Devla
  • Day 3: Natha Top
  • Day 4: Sanasar
  • Day 5: Patnitop
  • Day 6: MANTALAI
  • Day 7: Back to base camp Udhampur
  • PROGRAM FEE : Rs.4000/- per head.
  • CANCELLATION RULES : In case you are unable to join this trek you will get a refund of Rs.2000/- provided your request is received directly in the National Office at least 15 days in advance from the date of your joining. Any unforeseen event / strike or natural calamity will not be considered as a cause of cancellation. Refund will be given after completion of the program.
  • WHO CAN PARTICIPATE : The minimum age for a member to join the program is 15 years, YHAI membership is mandatory to participate. This condition will be adhered to strictly. Under age will not be considered in any case.
  • WHAT PARTICIPANTS SHOULD BRING ALONG : Rucksack (if You have one), Woolens, Cotton Shirts, Slacks, Cotton Pants, Sun Cap, Shoes, Socks, Enameled or Steel Mug / tumbler, Plate, Spoon, Water purifying tablets, Pen knife, Needle, Thread, Spare buttons, Goggles, Cold cream / Vaseline, Soap, Toilet Paper, Towel, Rain sheet, Medicines which you normally use at home, Camera with extra batteries.
  • ACCOMMODATION FACILITIES : Tented accommodation, pucca toilet cum bathroom facility.
  • FOOD & WATER SUPPLIES : Simple, nutritious vegetarian meals.
  • SAFETY & SECURITY : Extensive and painstaking preparations have gone into the planning of mountain biking routed for your safety. Our field staff and experienced camp leaders have been visiting the area to check all details. While every care has been taken to ensure safety, the Youth Hostels Association of India cannot be held responsible for any accident, illness and such other unforeseen eventualities.
  • Notice for Participants:
  • 1. Smoking, use of alcohol and narcotics of any desciption is strictly prohibited during the course of the program.
  • 2. Deviation from the set route of the program is not permitted. If participants may wish to join any other activity, they may do so at their own responsibility and risk only after finishing the program and checking out.
  • 3. Stay other than YHAI Camp is not allowed for the entire duration of the camp.
  • 4. This is an environment friendly trek. Do no litter any wrappers or spoil the trial in any way. In case you find any wrapper, plastic bag or anything left by trekkers on the way, please carry the same with you and deposit at the base camp.
  • 5. Burning of wood during camp fire is strictly prohibited. Import of any bio Non- degradable Material in Himachal Pradesh is an offence.
