• The Sundarbans is the largest single block of tidal halophytic mangrove forest in the world. The Sundarbans is a UNESCO World Heritage Site covering parts of Bangladesh and the Indian state of West Bengal. The Sundarbans National Park is a National Park, Tiger Reserve, and a Biosphere Reserve located in the Sundarbans delta in the Indian state of West Bengal. This region is densely covered by mangrove forests, and is one of the largest reserves for the Royal Bengal tiger. We are pleased to inform that Youth Hostels Association of India, West Bengal State Branch is organising a very popular World Heritage Trip to Sunderban, which is enlisted in world heritage book by UNESCO. Unlike other wildlife parks, where roads, jeeps and guides provide a semblance of control, here visitors will find themselves holding their breath and stiffening to state of alertness as their boats glide through the creeks and rivulets, bordered with primeval mangrove forest sheltering the most unimaginable dangers in it's impenetrable undergrowth. A unique region, where there are no borders to divide fresh from saline water, river from sea.
• REPORTING DATES at Kolkata Base Camp : 1) 16 Nov. 2013, 2) 23 Nov. 2013 3) 30 Nov. 2013 4) 07 Dec. 2013. All Participants will report at Base Camp after 15-00 hrs.
• DURATION of the programme is 5 nights/6days.
• PROGRAMME SCHEDULE:
• 1st day - Reporting at Kolkata (Place will be informed soon)
• 2nd day - Sight Seeing at Kolkata
• 3rd day - Transfer to Sonakhali (Sunderban Area) by Deluxe Bus-3&1/2 hrs, then by Launch to Pakhiralay, Sunderban
• 4th day - By Launch through World famous mangrove visit Sajnekhali, Sudanyakhali, Dobanki (Bangladesh Border) and back to Pakhiralay for night stay.
• 5th day- By Launch Bony Camp, Kalasdeep (Bay of Bengal Mohana) and then Kaikhali for night stay.
• 6th day- By Launch Jharkhali, then Sonakhali. After Lunch move to Kolkata by Deluxe Bus and then drop at Kolkata for checking out.
• GROUP SIZE: 40 heads per batch. Total Route in World Famous Heritage Sunderban Forest Area is through mangrove, creek and subsidiary of Ganga River. It's an unique creation of nature, play ground of famous Royal Bengal Tiger, Deer, Wild boar Crocodile and varieties of birds.
• PARTICIPATION FEES : Rs.4800/- per head and Rs.2400/- per Child below 6 yrs of age. Charges include all the night staying arrangement in Guest House, nutritious vegetarian food, accompanying one Govt. Registered forest guide, Insurance, Individual Forest Entry Tickets, Transfer Fees from Kolkata to Kolkata.
• THINGS TO BRING ALONG WITH YOU : Shirt and Pants, Wind-cheater, Inner Garments, shoe and chappal, Sun cap, Towel, Sun Glass, Torch, Water Bottle and water purifier, Plate, Mug and Spoon, Needle and thread with spare Buttons, Toilet papers, Vaseline, Soap, Pen and Note Book, Medicine which you normally use at home. Optional: Camera, Musical Instruments.
