• ABOUT THE PROGRAM : YHAI Tamil Nadu State Branch is organizing the Winter Trekking Expedition in the beautiful region of Kodaikanal- Munnar from 21st December 2013 to 3rd January 2014. Eight Groups: 40 persons in each group, Each Group Seven Days Trek ( 21-12-13 to 03-01-2014)
• PURPOSE OF EXPEDITION: The purpose of this expedition is to offer the youth new trekking regions in the Kodai- Munnar Hills & providing a healthy outdoor activity during the weekend.
• PARTICIPATION : Participation is open to all educational institutions, individual & recognized units of YHAI. The strength of a group shall be 40 only. Participants have to bear all travel expenses from their place to the base camp at Kodaikanal & back from Munnar.
• PARTICIPATION FEES : Member: Rs.4200, The fee includes simple vegetarian food, accommodation, supervision, expert guidance & equipments for 7 days & sight- seeing expenses by jeep at Munnar.
• REPORTING DATES: : Participants can chose to report on day between 21st December 2013 to 28th December 2013.
• ROUTE & SCHEDULE
• Day 1: Reporting at base camp Kodaikanal at 2:30 pm
• Day2: Trek to Vellagavi (12km)
• Day3: Vellagavi to Kurangani (10km)
• Day4: Kurangani to Kolukkumalai (12km)
• Day5: Kolukkumalai to Central Station (11km)
• Day 6: Central Station to Top Station (12km) Top Station to Munnar (By Jeep) Covering Echo- Point, Mattupatti Dam, & TATA Tea Estate
• Day 7: Disperse after breakfast
• REPORTING : All participants will report after 2:30 pm at base camp on the reporting date allotted to them.
• HOW TO PARTICIPATE : Those who are interested to participate can apply online or send the complete trekking registration form (Download), with a Demand Draft for Rs.4200/ Rs.4300, in favor of YHAI, Tamil Nadu State Branch, latest by 15th December 2013. Please send the form on the address below: For participants below the age of 15 years, a consent letter from their parents is essential. Our base camp: Greenlands Youth Hostel, Kodaikanal (Near Kodaikanal Bus Stand).
